Mandy’s passion lies in the realm of eating, body shape, and weight, and she specialises in relational psychotherapy for individuals with related issues. Her work as a specialist psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer is uniquely informed by both her lived experience as she identifies as a ‘fat’ woman and her clinical experience. Mandy works with clients with a range of body and weight-related issues as well as eating disorders on a long-term basis.
Mandy’s therapeutic approach is based on building strong relationships with clients, and she provides long-term support through relational psychotherapy and supervision. Her expertise in eating weight and body-related issues extends beyond her 1:1 work as she runs specialised workshops on various related topics. In addition to her clinical work, Mandy also conducts research and publishes articles on eating, shape, and weight. Her latest journal article, “Nourish: A Framework for Nourishing Eating-Disordered Clients Using a Structural and Relational Methodology,” was recently published in the Transactional Analysis Journal (April 2023).
